Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using WebPify (the "Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
WebPify provides:
- A free web-based image converter with daily usage limits for converting images to WebP format
- A desktop application with unlimited processing and advanced features, available through minimum donation
Use License
Web Application
The web application is provided free of charge with usage limitations for personal and commercial use. You may:
- Convert images to WebP format within daily limits
- Use converted images for any lawful purpose
- Process files up to 5MB and 1920px resolution
Premium features with unlimited usage may be available through future subscription plans.
Desktop Application
The desktop application is distributed under a "pay what you want" model with a minimum donation of $1/€1. Upon download, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- Install and use the software on unlimited devices you own
- Receive free updates indefinitely
- Use the software for personal or commercial purposes
Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
- Remove or alter any copyright notices or branding
- Use the service to process illegal content
- Attempt to overload or disrupt the service
- Scrape or automate access to the service without permission
- Resell or redistribute the software
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Quality or accuracy of converted images
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebPify and its creators shall not be liable for any:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Damages resulting from use or inability to use the Service
User Content
You retain all rights to the images you process through our Service. We do not claim any ownership over your content. You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have rights to process the images
- The legality of the content you convert
- Backing up your original files
Payment and Refunds
Desktop Application
The desktop application is available through a minimum donation model to support development. Due to the nature of digital software distribution:
- Minimum donation of $1/€1 required for download access
- All payments are final and non-refundable
- Includes lifetime updates at no additional cost
- Donations support continued development for all users
Service Availability
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for the web application, but we do not guarantee:
- Continuous, uninterrupted access
- Error-free operation
- That the service will meet your specific requirements
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.
Intellectual Property
The WebPify name, logo, and original code are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Service uses open-source components:
- React - MIT License
- @squoosh/lib - Apache 2.0 License
- Other dependencies as listed in package.json
Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with international copyright law and the laws of the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
